Acting Assistant Professor of Lawyering

Mindy Nunez Duffourc is an Acting Assistant Professor of Lawyering. She also teaches in the Master of Science in Health Law and Strategy program. She researches in the areas of comparative and international health law and health law and technology with a focus on medical liability.

Prior to joining the Lawyering faculty, Mindy was a civil litigator in New Orleans and Chicago. Her litigation practice focused on medical malpractice and governmental liability, and she represented clients, including judges, state agencies, health care providers, and small business owners in various state and federal courts at both trial and appellate levels. She has tried more than fifty cases to verdict and presented oral argument on behalf of clients in both state and federal courts of appeals.

In 2016, Mindy was selected by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the German Chancellor Fellowship Program to a pursue a self-designed research project in the area of comparative health law. Following her fellowship, she joined the Chair of Common law at the University of Passau as a lecturer in the European Studies, Comparative and International Law certificate program. She obtained her JD from the University of North Carolina and her BA from Louisiana Tech University.
