Program Overview: Health Law and Strategy

Overview

The Master of Science in Health Law and Strategy program is uniquely designed to provide mid-career professionals with an engaging, comprehensive, and strategic lens into the legal aspects and dynamic landscape of the health sector. As an interdisciplinary graduate degree, this joint degree is taught by expert faculty from NYU Law and NYU Wagner, two top-ranked NYU schools.

Students will gain a broad core understanding of legal issues that affect the health economy, and in-depth critical thinking and relevant analytical skills. The hybrid plan of study enables students to complete the program in just 12 months, positioning them to lead across the health landscape and pursue careers in nonprofit, public, and private sectors.

Students will gain the critical skills to identify new strategic initiatives and drive innovation in the highly regulated health sector.

Length: One year (12 months) starting each fall semester 

Credits: 30 

Hybrid learning environment: Study with live online classes, asynchronous/self-paced coursework, and three residencies, one per semester, occurring in either New York or Washington, DC.

Residency Format

The three in-person sessions* will take place over the course of three days of on-campus instruction and will be held in the Fall Semester, Spring Semester, and Summer Semester.

In addition to the online pre-program courses, students will be responsible for completing readings and online seminars between each in-person session.*

  • Semester 2: March 13-15, 2024 in Washington, DC
  • Semester 3: June 11-14, 2024 in NYC

Fee

The program fee for the Class of 2024 is US $87,510. This fee includes tuition, course materials, and official events. Hotel and travel expenses are not included.*

A non-refundable tuition pre-payment of $1,000 USD is required to secure a spot in the Class of 2024 and begin the pre-program coursework.

The program fee will be paid in installments of approximately:

  1. $28,170 for the Summer 2023 semester
  2. $29,170 for the Fall 2023 semester
  3. $29,170 for the Spring 2024 semester

*Due to COVID-19 and resulting travel restrictions, future in-person residencies may be converted to remote instruction. We will share more information as it becomes available.
